  1. St.Luke chapter 7 begins as Jesus enters in to Capernaum. He heals the centurions servant. Then in verse 11 He went to a city called Nain and raised a widows’only son back to life as he was being carried to his grave.By now there was a large crowd of people following Jesus around. In v.18, John the Baptist was in jail but some of his disciples told him what his cousin was doing. So he sent a couple of them out to where Jesus was just to see if he was The Messiah that they were waiting for or not.In v.21 They got all the evidence that they needed!Jesus sent them back to John and said to tell John about all these things that they had seen and that the gospel was preached to the poor!
The bible goes on in verses 24-29,we read Jesus’ testimony of John the baptist. In verses 30-35,Jesus denounces unbelief.
Verses 36-50 The Lord was anointed At Simon the pharisees’ house in Capernaum as he sat at a meal. Now,Here is a question,
Was this woman invited to the meal? She was a sinner from the city.
Maybe the pharisee had her attend to see Jesus’ reaction.Maybe Jesus used her presence there for an object lesson for Simon the Pharisee(vs 44-50)The end result is always the same ,Jesus saves, delivers and heals and the Father is glorified!
So,When you are invited to anothers’ table,go,with the love and wisdom of God and remember that sometimes there is more than food on the table, sometimes a Pharisees’agenda and/or sometimes a precious soul!
